Deep Roots in District 9
Lee Nyquist and his wife, Leslie Nixon, were married in 1983 in the Bedford Presbyterian Church and they have lived in New Boston for nearly twenty three years. Lee has served as the town moderator for New Boston for over twenty of those years. Both Lee and Leslie are practicing attorneys and Lee currently works for Shaheen & Gordon in Manchester.
Lee has had five children: Christina, a graduate of The Derryfield School and Smith College; Cliff, who died when he was fifteen and a sophomore at St. Paul’s School in 2004; Carla, a senior at The Derryfield School who will attend Colby College in the Fall; and twins, Lincoln and Linnea, who turned five on May 7.
Lee has distinguished himself as a man of integrity and leadership in the legal community, having served as the president of the Manchester Bar Association and the New Hampshire Association for Justice. Additionally, Lee has brought representatives of business and labor together in his role as the chair of the New Hampshire Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council.
Finally, Lee supports his community: he is a member of the Manchester Rotary Club and is a past director of the Community Church of New Boston and the Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
